What is Upromise?
Upromise is a free service designed to help families save money for education expenses. Hundreds of leading companies will contribute a portion of your eligible spending into your Upromise account.
With Student Loan Rebates, you can apply the savings earned through Upromise to your student loan debt to help repay your loan faster.
How do I pay down my loan?
- Join Upromise. It's FREE.
- Shop at participating merchants and use your registered grocery, drugstore, debit or credit cards.
- Participating merchants contribute a percentage of your purchase to your Upromise account.
- Once your account reaches $50 initially, Upromise transfers the money to AES, your loan servicer, on a quarterly basis. Subsequent transfers occur quarterly after each $25 earned.
- AES applies the money to your loan account, reducing your loan debt.
How do I earn rebates?
- Shop through Upromise at more than 450 online retailers.
- Register your store cards and shop at more than 23,000 grocery and drugstores.
- Register your credit and debit cards and earn rebates at more than 40,000 stores and services and 7,000 restaurants nationwide.

You, your friends and family are not limited to just helping you. Each individual contributor has the ability to divide savings among more than one recipient, so if someone wants to share, they can. (For example, 40% to you, 20% to your niece, etc.)
